Abstract:In these two talks, I will try to explain how a mathematical physicist may think about elliptic cohomology and stable envelopes, with an emphasis on both simplest examples and their generalizations. Some prior familiarity with equivariant cohomology or K-theory would be certainly helpful, but hopefully not absolutely necessary to understand the discussion. As an application, in the second part of the second talk, I will explain how stable envelopes in elliptic cohomology solve K-theoretic curve counting problems for such targets as Nakajima quiver varieties and related varieties.
